Fundamentally, portrait painting is what I really love to do.

I like to paint people who I find interesting; this may be that they have an interesting face, story or something else that has me captivated.

​

My current approach is to discover a muse and then paint about four portraits of them to explore different poses and styles.

​

I am shy of doing commissions because I struggle badly if that person rejects the painting, like has happened in the past.

​

We artists are sensitive, I'm not just painting you but giving you a part of myself in that painting.
